I have lived in Thailand with a non immigrant 'o' visa since July however I need to look for work. I understand that I need a non immigrant 'b' visa. How can I switch to that one?

i believe you can only request a non immi B if you have a letter from the company thats going to hire you. so now that you're just looking for a job, you're fine on the 'O'. and you cannot change sub-type of visa w/in ctry i.e. you have to travel outside of thailand to get one then come back and extend it at a later time when required. hope i help. i can give you a website (forum) that has full details on all these and more ppl with expertise to answer your q's ... i don't think its appropriate for me to post the web address here so hit me up, happy to help. have a great day.

Find a job, leave the country apply for the visa enter the kingdom. Apply for a work permit. 2.1 Non-Immigrant Visa Category “B†(Business Visa) is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to work or to conduct business. (1) Foreigners who wish to work in Thailand must provide the following documents: - Passport or travel document with validity of not less than 6 months. - Completed visa application form. - Recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months. - Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family). - Letter of approval from the Ministry of Labour. To obtain this letter, the applicant’s prospective employer in Thailand is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour Tel. 02-2452745, or at the Provincial Employment Office in his or her respective province. If it is a Non-imm O Retirement visa then follow the instructions of Negeshia. If it is a Non-imm O Thai Wife visa you can get a work permit without changing your visa.
