Get an apartment, doesnt need to be anything fancy, but you can get them for quite cheap. Or you could get a job in a guesthouse, and in return they might give you a free room. Cheapese option would be to live by the sea and sleep in a tent... thats free! Dont need to worry about snow or it getting too cold.

I would think Pattaya... It's not as upscale as Phuket, and you can get really good deals on apartments. The beach there ain't much to look at (Pattaya's known for other things, if y' know what i mean-- wink wink!). You could probably get a studio for something like 20,000 baht per month, just don't get picky...

One off the islands on either east or west coast. I lived on koh toa mainly. My bungalow was about £45 a month and was write on the beach. Although i did know the owners. I think if you decide you are going to stay on one of the islands for the whole year and tell them when you get there, they will give you the same price. Otherwise it is about £100 a month. It makes it easier to travel aswell as you don't have to carry all your stuff from place to place.

Try Cha'am - more of a thai beach resort though plenty of foreigners, restaurants etc.. and far cheaper than Pattaya etc.. pleasant place - - think you can still get decent lodging there for 3-4,000 baht a month.. there are shop houses w/living upstairs on soi bus station that rent for abt 4000 baht per month [ $100 ] - - and it is abt 2+ hrs to bkk

You should just go there and make enquiries. Lodging can be pretty cheap, as they give you discount for long stay. So, find the place you like and look around. If you are not too fussy.
