Im in love with a thai girl and want to live in thailand and be with her. how can i do this

Im in love with a thai girl and want to live in thailand and be with her. how can i do this?
im 20 and i've fallen in love with a thai girl whilst visiting family in thailand. she's not like the girls you read about, she doesn't want my money or for me to give her family money. She's really genuine she works in a bar but told me she doesn't like it and pattaya isn't for her and she wants to study instead. but her parents dont want her to. i got back from thailand only a few hours ago and i've already had an email from her and a phone call to make sure i got back okay and to say she misses me. I need to know how i can go about living in thailand so i can be with her. my mother already lives there with her husband but says its not possible for me to live there unless i pay the thai government a lot of money for a visa. any info on this would be greatly appreciated i forgot to mention the amount for this visa is around 2million baht which with the currency as it is now is about £37000 and i dont have that sort of money. to everyone saying about her wanting my money... for the whole month i was there she didnt want it and she knows i dont really have any. she paid for me to go out drinking with her and her friends. not the otherway around. i didnt pay any bar fines cause she made me wait for it to close before we left and she didnt ask for money and dissapear till the following night she stayed with me till 20 minutes before she had to work again everytime. she didnt want to go out to resterantes or anything like that, just being with me seemed to be enough, and the night before i left she cried giving me a hug in bed and said she doesnt want me to leave i treat her like a princess. and dont forget her when i go home. and then the next day she burst into tears as i dropped her off on my way to the airport. if all that is fake then she should go into acting cause it seemed pretty real to me. if it makes me a fool for falling for her then im a fool but i dont care. and i finished college 4 years ago oh and she works in a bar cause she moved to pattaya to see her sister but couldnt find her for weeks so took the job there to have somewhere to stay. now she's stuck in the contract with them.

3 Steps: 1. Get a job 2. Get a Visa. 3. Go to Thailand.

I thought they change the story in Pattaya already. This one I've heard about 25 years ago. I worked sometimes ago and had to deal with lots of westerners who married to Thai girls; well surprisingly most of thm weren't from bars. However, majorty told me they had BA arts department from Chulalongkorn University; well the oldest and probably the best of it. One guy lost his wife to a drum player in a band, along with his little daughter (may be eight). Went and tried to win back his wife only to find the drummer's father holding a shot gun and he had to leave. Spent nearly all his fortune on detective and lawyer, finally he got his daughter back snatching her from the mother's arm at Bangkok's Don Muang airport. Now, he has his daughter with him, still sending me the picture. He said: "You can take a girl out of Patpong, Never can take Patpong out of a girl!"

How many times have I heard some guy say she not like other girls, she different. She works in a bar but she is not like other girls. She loves me and email me and calls me. Do yourself a favor and wait a few weeks and see if she ask for money. Her mother is sick, the cow is sick, her apartment got robbed and stole all her money, college tuition is due. She is like those other girls you read about and who do you think she is emailing tonight that she miss and love who just went back home.

I researched for a US citizen to stay in Thailand a while back. You may have other options. I realize you are in love. That is great. Okay she is working as a bar girl. I will make no judgment on that. Why she is working there? Well you did not mention that. My guess, her parents need or want her to work there for the extra money. She has an obligation to her parents that will affect her karma. You have to realize she is a second class citizen contrary to how you may have brought up to understand. And she is subject to the ways of her parents wants and what she wants is secondary or tertiary. So really if you want to be with her, you have a two fold problem. One is your visa, I believe you are right, about the 1 million baht fee. Plus another 800,000 to 1 Million baht in the bank. You could try to stay on a student visa and go to school there. That would not require those kind of fees and deposits. http://www.siam-legal.com/UK-Citizens/thailand-education-visa-uk.php When you are there what do you want? Her to not work at the bar? If so, you may have to compensate her parents for the lost cash flow. I am not really giving you an answer because you have questions to answer for yourself and discuss with her about her life and her commitments to her family and what you both are going to do. Siam-Legal is just happens to be a UK legal site, I am an American, I don't know exactly if this company is any good. You can search further for more or different help Good luck

Ok, I know exactly where your coming from because I met a lovely Thai girl when I visited family in Koh Samui in February! Of course this lovely pretty girl you've met doesn't want to work in a bar, but most of these 'bar girls' come from poor families in rural villages who are desperate and are in need of money. She has left her family in her poor rural village and has headed for a main city (such as Pattaya) in the hope to make good money for her family and meet a nice wealthy western guy - even better if he has all these things and he's young! If you do actually want to date or even marry her YOU WILL be expected to take care of her and give her money each month so she can survive and support her parents. Thai's express their love with money and like to share their money with their family. I'm not saying you havn't met a genuine girl, but you need to be aware that many of these pretty Thai gilrs have a number of western boyfriends who all send them 4 or 5000 Baht a month and they are able to live a very good lifesyle with this (the average wage in Thailand is between 4 and 6000 Baht a month) Regarding living in Thailand DON'T unless you've got a job and a bit of money behind you. You will only be granted a working visa for Thailand if you are a skilled individual. For now, take a deep breath and if you still think she's 100% genuine pay her a few more visits then get a visa for her to bring her back to your home country. REMEMBER THE FAMOUS SAYING IN THAILAND GOES: NO MONEY NO HONEY! TAKE CARE AND ALL THE BEST! I'm seeing my Thai girl in 2 months! : p

you know she could've made all of those things up. well, most likely. and you'll regret that decision. and come on, you are only 20 and your amygdala hasn't fully matured yet. if you truely love her, then you can wait until you get out of college.

Whenever I read a question "Is Thailand dangerous" ? I usually answer that the biggest danger is falling in love with a Thai bar girl. You poor boy. I saw an ad in a Pattaya Baht bus for a long time stay you can become a student and have a student visa but then you would still need money to support yourself and her and her family.

Of course she is not like all the other girls you read about. None of them are. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck. You're twenty. Get over it. You will fall in love again. If this really is the partner you want to share you life with: 1- Finish your education first. Get a teaching degree. Most likely the only job you will find is teacher. 2- Win the lottery. At 20 you haven't got neither any experience nor any financial reserve worth mentioning. Best thing is to rob a few banks, sell drugs or win the lottery. I suggest winning the lottery. I'm sorry for my harsh words. You are not the first, not the only one and certainly not the last to find the girl of your dreams here. Just be happy with your experience, and either enjoy the memory of it. Or seriously work on getting your dream come true. It isn't easy to find a job here. Millions are unemployed. Farangs always demand a higher salary than locals. Why would a Thai company or school want to hire an expensive farang if they can hire a suitable Thai willing to work for far less? They ONLY do that if you make it worthwhile: having unique knowledge, or lots of experience in something. At 20 the only unique knowledge you can offer is being a native English speaker. Not much of an advantage, if you don't like teaching, that is.

aren't you too young to do such a thing ?and do you have a job or a good income ? first of all i would say that Thai girls are really kind and because of this so many foreigner fall in love with them, they show that your money isn't important and don't want your money but as so many others that said this , many of them are come from poor families so after a while they kinda need your money for Supporting their family,if you really in love with this girl u should wait and find out some more Information about her and her family, and one way you can go and be with her is MARRIAGE and i think she really want this so if u ever decide to get married so make everything clear that u are not gonna support her family cause the majority of them need someone who support them and family.
11 :
Dan, So you want to move away and live in wacky-fun-world. Great! First of all, how much money do you have now or can you save before you plan to move? Do you have a college degree?
12 :
Tell her you have 2 million baht to get the visa but then you will not have money for her to live and her famiily - but you can be with her - Or, you can just send the money to her, but she will not be able to see you again but she can quit work and lve nicely at home in her village - - Let her decide - everyone above will guess that she will take the $$ instead of the love - they are proficient at both emailing you and tugging at your heartstrings - they are real proffesionals at what they do

for those who live in thailand

for those who live in thailand?
Would a salary of 49,000 baht a month after tax rent free be considered good for a westerner even in a so called costly thai city?

Not for a expat is it enough. You can live on it OK, but for a westerner it is peanuts. Other questions I would hope you asked is how big is the apartment is in square meters and number of bedrooms, does your apartment cost include electric and water also are you far from the sky train or subway The answer is at lease 60 meters if your single and 100 if married and with family the answer to the other questions are YES. You should be making over 100,000. I sure hope you don't have a family. Because an International schools will cost you far more then 49,000 baht a month.
2 :
$1400 US per month is OK especially with your rent being paid. Your not going to get rich but if your careful with your money you can save some and enjoy a year or two in Thailand.
3 :
After tax and rent free it's not good but not terrible. You could live fairly well on that amount of money as long as you're not out partying too much and don't mind eating local Thai food for most of your meals you shouldn't have much problem getting by. If you eat at western restaurants a lot, frequent the bars and pubs regularly and have a difficult time keeping your libido in check, then you might not make it. It all depends on the lifestyle you want to live.
4 :
If your living rent free, then 49,000 Baht a month you can get by. You say `Costly Thai city`Do you mean Bangkok? If so,then it`s not necessarily costly at all.Sure Bangkok you can go crazy and spend a fortune each month ,but you can also live pretty cheap and still have a good time. It`s only costly if you make it that way.Once you have lived there for a while you`ll learn places that are not overpriced, still offer good food or a good night out,but inside your budget. Compare it to living in say Phuket or Koh Samui ,then it`s cheap!Very!. Transport ,eating and drinking there are many options to cut cost if need be.
5 :
Yeah, if you have company car and driver.
6 :
I guess it is ok, but maybe not alot of money - - it depends on what your standards are... what are you making now and where?? - - but that is less than $50 a day in spending money - sure, you can live on that, but, I would not consider it "good" in comparison to what other westerners are making, but again, that depends on the type of work - if you are teaching english, its pretty good - - bigger question might be how much you enjoy either the work or being here
7 :
That amount wont give you the life of luxury. But if the rent ed accomadation is free and you only have to pay electric and water, it will give you a pleasant but modist lifestyle. Just keep away from the many bars at nite and better to 'eat locally' and avoid the expensive western resturants.

I am American but I live in Thailand now and for those Americans stuck back home maybe you don't realize that?
I am American but I live in Thailand now and for those Americans stuck back home maybe you don't realize that pretty much the whole planet downloads torrents daily with never considering for one second that the police are going to be knocking on their door and I see now when ask some torrents questions here on YA that either get no answers or I get all of the Hush, hush people answering me.Jez,if the Thai police were to arrest people for having copies then 90% of Thai people would be in jail including the police themselves and all the dvd shops would shut down and it's not just Thailand.Outside of a few western countries it is a global thing to do.I hear that the American people can even have a problem with YA if they talk about it on here. What happened to free speach?

Did you forget how to speak English when you left too? Yeesh! This was hard to read. I'm not sure what you mean, but whatever.
4 :
Oh I'm sorry to hear that... Hugs and kisses. xox
5 :
What are you talking about? Having copies of what?
6 :
I don't really understand your point. You can't compare Thailand, China or, pretty much, anywhere in Asia with the possible exception of Japan to the west. In China, I couldn't even access the songs that I had actually paiid for on iTunes nor could I download anything else because US iTunes was blocked and my credit card and computer were linked to it. I didn't even know where to go to buy legit movies but there were stands all around selling the latest dvd's for 5 RMB. The situations are completely different so you shouldn't try to compare them. It's not about free speech, it's about copyright infringement. There are several sites that people can go to to watch movies and tv shows that don't require downloading of any kind - they can simply stream them.
7 :
freedom of SPEACH does NOT give a person freedom to spell his/her own way====SPEECH and i have NO idea what you are talking about
8 :
Yeah that's where all the pedophiles flee to... Thailand.. right? How's that working out for ya? Soooo you're downloading all the child porn you want over there right? Nice to know.

Hi, I think you should head for Pattaya. There's a large, successful and peaceful Middle-eastern communtiy is the South Pattaya [tourist] area with many shops, restaurants and businesses. You need to come over and take a look first. Make some local Iranian connections and get a feel for the type of business you could do here. With 200K you will be able to set up a business and possibly buy a condo. You can own a condo freehold, but you can't own land. Come and take a look. Don't wear red.
2 :
I'm selling my internet cafe here in Pattaya, 19 computers, with room to add many more. Send me a message if will be in town soon, if not forget it as the for sale sign is up right now with potential offers comming in everyother day. It will be gone within a month.
