I've never heard of this one before. I guess if you have sufficient means to support yourself why not. But usually if you are under 13 years of age you are considered (by law) a minor and require protector, in form of guardian. By law in Thailand, a female can legally be married at the age of 15 and male at 17, both however under parental consent. At the age of 20, a person is considered mature and can carry on a legal commitment by oneself, including legally be married without parental consent. It may be safe to say that you can go on and live by yourself from the age of 15, and you are eligible for voting at the age of 18.

I'm not sure but in Thailand they never really seem to care too much! I've seen countless numbers of children walking the streets and no-one ever seems to worry about them. I would guess that you have to be at least 16 though. Why don't you contact the Thai embassy? If you google them I'm sure that you could find their number. Good luck :-)

Do you have a means of support? How will you pay for your hotel, food and medical care? I know that I have come across 16 year olds traveling alone in Thailand but they had support from family members. Normally you just can't show up and stay in Thailand unless you are Thai! Foreigners have visa requirements to meet, sufficient income to support yourself, etc. You must have a valid passport before anything is done anyway. Short time visit probably no problem if you are over 16. You do have to check with the airlines and see if they have any restrictions on minors traveling without parental support. Don't ever think that by moving to a different country will solve all of your problems. When you are overseas you have all sorts of other problems to contend with. Minor infractions involving police in Thailand will be more severe than anything you get in your home country. Things that are a "slap on the wrist" in your country could result in prison terms in Thailand.
