How can i live in Thailand for a long period of time? I am Currently Back in the US I was in Asia for a total of 7 months with my 1 year “B†visa My question is … I want to go back to Thailand and arrive in December (I will have a fresh 1 year visa “B†Passport) I will look for work and most likely find it I want to stay for years if possible please be detailed in your answer to my question including all things I should know and understand… I have lived there already for more then ½ a year…HELP! I cant wait to go back what are my options… I AM 23 THANK YOU

Why do you want to live in Thailand? The cultural or some girl who told you she loves you long time? You say you have no problem finding a job. Well then you keep that job and you can stay here as long as you have a job. Other option is to marry that Thai girl and live here on a O visa, but hope you have money to support her and keep 400,000 in the bank. Of course if your old enough retire here after you made enough money in your life to enjoy retirement.

There's really no way. You have to continue to renew your Visa. One of my colleague in the office married a Taiwanese girl, who got a job in a Bank in Thailand. She does look like Thai, she speaks, reads and writes Thai. She has been applying for citizenship for over 5 years and still they told her to wait. Meantime, she has to renew her visa at times like every foreigners do.

Retirement visa is the best, you can renew it yearly. But you must always have, at least 400.000 baht in the bank every time you want to renew your visa for another year. For as long as you still have your retirement pension and enough money in the bank, then you can always renew for another one year, without leaving the county.
