Sick hedgehog!!! I live in Thailand with vets who know nothing about hedgehogs, and my hedgehog is sick!?
Noonie is barely opening his eyes, has a runny nose and is barely eating anything. I got some generic cold medicine for animals from the vet and he has been drinking that in his water, but he is not getting better. Could it be the heat? What does he need? Help!!!!!!!!!!

He really needs to get to a vet. Have you tried a pet hospital?? The heat could be making him worse. If he's drinking that's good, try to get some food in him though. If i were you I would contact a zoo nearest you, and ask them to put you in contact with any vets they know of for exotic animals. There's bound to be one around, or at least a vet willing to do some research on hedgehogs for you. Even the vets at zoos sometimes know little about the animals they need to care for, so they research first.

i don't think it wold be heat because hedgehogs don't like the temp to fall below 70 degrees f. If hes drinking that's a good sine.maby you cold try some treat to get him to eat just make sure its nondairy most hedgehogs are lactose intolerant. If he has a parasite his poo wold probably be green this is also a sine of stress.
