Is there a group or organization that might send people over for certain tasks? What about maybe a military branch? Which one would most likely be easiest to station over there? THANKS!

Your question doesn't make a lot of sense. You say military branch?? what military, what country. Very little military presents over here. Maybe getting a job with an embassy from your country, If you want to just move here you going to have to meet the visa requirements you just can't come here and stay.

Most people like you teach English in Thailand although in order to receive a "decent" pay you would need a certification such as TEFL. Read up on Thailand's visa requirements because if you plan on staying in Thailand you will have to know them.

well, I think you can probably get away with visiting for a little while, maybe even get a 3 month tourist visa - - work is a whole nother ball of wax - - If you want to do volunteer work, you might find an NGO that helps with Karen refugees - - if you are from USA, Peace Corps has a small presence here, but there is not that much for them to do - - life is pretty good here for most thai people - - ps - if you join the military somehwere, they usually tell you what to do - I don't think they are there to grant your requests..
