How many of you live in Thailand? What is it like for you? I wanna move there, as I think its like really awesome and all. But when I read the questions on YA, it is really creepy cus everyone who asks sumthin is all like about hooking up with Thai girls. I looked on Google and is Thailand as seedy as it appears on this forum and on the internet?

I am not a woman but I know that there are foreign (Farang) women who live in Thailand. Plus - you just can't move to Thailand and live there without proper permission from the Thai government. There are some women employed in international companies who do business in Thailand and there are some women who are teachers. The way you write may exclude you from getting a job teaching! Read up on Thailand before you visit. Yes, like many countries,there are some areas that have a few bars - so what! No one forces you into a bar against your own will! Thousands of people walk by bars every day and are never molested! Some foreign women do have Thai boyfriends and lovers, sometimes they support them or pay them. Gigolo is an Italian term, so that means you will find this service in Europe too! Think before you move anywhere overseas! Salaries may be quite a bit less than you are used to. You may have to lower your standard of living unless you are independently wealthy. Good luck.

In all actuality the seedy life is 1% only, there is so much more to Thailand

I think you have got the wrong idea . Try going to less TOURISTY places and you will find thailand as normal as any country . Can i suggest you go to Chiang Mai or even Bangkok but stay away from places like Patpong . You will find Thailand enjoyable and very easy for a lady to move about . The openness of Thailand and easy money has made Thailand infamous for sex . Let me tell you that is only one aspect of Thailand . When i was dating Thai girls online i found them very decent because they were well educated some even with a Masters degree . You see you get what you look for :)

Not exactly true. I live here and am a Thai. The only reason sex trade (along with hooking up with local girls) was explicitly been focus in Thailand because of the differences in the value of currencies, especially US dollars versus Thai baht. This is about to be a history with US currency melting down at the moment.
