how much should i expect to spend living in thailand for four months

how much should i expect to spend living in thailand for four months?
My girlfriend got an offer to teach in thailand for 11 months. I am planning on going over and seeing her, as I have always wanted to see southeast asia, thailand and vietnam specifically. I am going to take at least a semester off of school, and am curios how much I should plan on spending a month, to live. specifically room, board and food, and of course the occasional beer. thank you!

I'm not sure how much has changed because of the recession, but the dollar is worth a TON in Thailand and Southeast asia. I don't think you will worry much about money there.

^ my english isnt good but not a ton luxury hotel or apartmaent, food(not on the street) it's about $2500/month but ill be cheaper if u can have a local life like eat on the street and live in a good hotel but sometimes people though that it's dirty

I would figure $25 to $50 a day depending on how comfortable you want to live.
4 :
If you have budget about 20,000 baht/month well a good life in Thailand.
5 :
Eating street food you can live off around USD3-4 per day, accommodation can range from USD125 per month for a very small apartment, and beer is around USD1 per bottle from local street stalls. Very easy to spend much more than this though!!

many people live long term in Thailand by getting the three or six month visa. when the visa is up take a two or three day trip to Malaysia, to Georgetown. renew visa and return to Thailand. i believe this is the fastest way, as it takes longer to get a visa in Cambodia or Laos. good luck. in my experience: checked into hotel in Georgetown. a professional visa agent took my passport and two passport photos that night. at noon the next day i had my Thai visa. if you go to Thai embassy yourself it will take you all day. that's all day standing in line. the agents do volume business and have contacts inside the embassy, so it takes them little time.

Are there any channels in Thailand that show live or delayed A-League matches

Are there any channels in Thailand that show live or delayed A-League matches?
I'm travelling to Thailand in a few days and was hoping to watch the Sydney FC v Queensland Roar game somewhere in Thailand on Sat 17th January, 2009. I will be in Koh Samui. Any help is greatly appreciated!
